Jackie Flack and Lionel
We adopted a 9 year old lurcher last year and because of his previous lifestyle he suffered with severe separation anxiety, especially at night time. Despite allowing him to sleep in the same room as us he still panicked when he did not have contact with us. We have been using zylkene now for a couple of weeks and the difference is amazing, we first used 1 tablet a day but now only need 1 every other day and we are hoping to reduce further. He is so much more relaxed now and we are all getting much needed sleep!
When Ellie came into our care she was 2 1/2 years old, and she has been in our care now 3 months, she came via another rescue who closed down leaving Ellie behind in her foster home who did not wish to adopt her. We were also told that she had already had 4 alleged forever homes and 17 previous foster homes and that she was a confident dog.
Once she arrived in foster care with us it was easy to understand why previous homes had given up on her and we - her confidence had been mis-read and mis-understood previously and she is infact a very fearful girl . She is noise phobic, chases shadows and lights as well as cyclists and joggers. She is also lead reactive but largely due to her fear. She can also be very fearful of new people.
"We spoke to a couple of behaviourists who assessed Ellie who both considered she was Super intellignet, hugely trainable and learns very quickly - most of which we knew - she is also such a loving and affectionate girl who deserved a chance and unless we did something to stop to book then she would continue to bounce if she was not homed correctly, the previous rescue had also considered putting her to sleep they told us - we were horrified she is way too good for that and not in any way aggressive - just fearful and OTT with chasing when out - so we began putting a trainging programme into place - this seemed fruitless as she was always on high alert with everything.
I already knew about Zylkene and so I approached our Vet and asked if we could not put her onto Zylkene for a while and see how we went even if only whilst we did some training with her. She has now been on Zylkene for a few weeks and we have seen very positive results. She is much much calmer, much more laid back and when out it is almost like she has had a light bulb moment and begun to think "oh so I am a dog I don't have to chase and bark at everything i see I can enjoy and sniff and play on my walk" and we are beginning gradually to enjoy some very nice walks with her - something we stopped for a while to reduce her adrenalin levels.
Many people have also commented on how much calmer Ellie seems when we are out - so not imagination on our part.
We intend to keep Ellie on Zylkene in the longer term to continue to help her as best we can - it has certainly helped Ellie and made a noticeable difference - just a shame previous rescue appeared unaware and not tried it before.
Vet has advised it is safe for her to continue to take so we intend to keep Ellie on it longer term."

“We have used Zylkene since Ollie was a puppy, he's a big nervous wreck when it comes to vet visits and Zylkene is our saving grace! We love how easy it is to administer, just pop open the capsules and mix it with his food. He doesn't take tablets well so Zylkene is absolutely perfect! We always make sure we have some in the house just incase and wouldn't be without it, we've tried other calming products but this is by far the best!!”

“Zylkene was suggested as an addition to my dog's medicines by her behaviorist. She is very anxious. Zylkene has made a positive impact on her anxiety level.” Mary Ann Campell
“I was advised by my vet to put my new rescue Saluki on this as she was to afraid to be handled. I have found it to be a Great item, she has been on it for about 5 weeks now, and even though she is still hand shy, she can be handled and now goes for walks.”
